    Feels like it’s been a while since this topic was brought up, and so much has happened since then. TNSR has really filled out but I’m sure there’s other features our users would love see in future releases. So with that said, please share your feature requests here and let’s see what we can do! —pfGeorge

    It's a bit tricky to google "pfsense cache installation" or so .. let me ask here: I have to install/upgrade around 10 pfSense-CE-appliances. As far as I understand I will have to install 2.7.2 from stick, then upgrade to 2.8.1, after that I can continue to install packages and provision the boxes. Is there a way to cache the downloaded packages etc ? Does it work to set up a transparent squid and install "through it"? I have a rather slow (60Mbit/s) line here, and it's in Europe, so I experience slower downloads from the (US-based?) netgate servers sometimes. That's why I look for speeding up the process. Aside from that I plan to deploy a basic config at installation time, and provision the boxes via ansible etc ... another topic, but maybe worth mentioning. Open for hints around that also ;-) thanks for any pointers, Stefan

    Protectli FW4C üzerine pfSense kurulu bir setupım var ve ISP’nin verdiği fiber modem/router kombosunun arkasında çalışıyor. Mevcut durumum şu: ISP modemi 192.168.1.1 adresinde pfSense’in WAN’ı modemden DHCP ile 192.168.1.100 alıyom pfSense LAN’ı 192.168.2.1/24 olarak ayarlı İnternet çıkışı sorunsuz çalışıyor fakat açıkça “double NAT” içindeyim yani Denediğim şeyler fikir vermesi açısından cevap vermeniz için: Modemin DHCP’sini kapatıp LAN IP’sini değiştirmeyi (ör. 192.168.2.1) denedim ama modem reboot olunca arayüzüne bir daha giremedim ve reset atmak zorunda kaldım. Büyük ihtimalle ISP bu cihazı uzaktan yönettiği için yerel değişiklikler stabil olmuyor. Şu an için geçici olarak şöle bıraktım: Modem: 192.168.l.l pfSense WAN: DHCP pfSense LAN: 192.168.2.1 Bu haliyle gezinme ve normal kullanım çalışıyor ancak port yönlendirme, VPN, uzaktan erişim gibi inbound işler doğal olarak karmaşıklaşıyor. Sizlere bikaç sorum var mümkünse Bu geçici kurulum mantıklı mı, yoksa pfSense LAN için başka bir subnet önerir misiniz? ISP’den “bridge mode” talep etmek pratikte işe yarıyor mu? Fiber ONT/router combo cihazlarda sorun çıkar mı? Benzer şekilde 192.168.1.1 arkasında pfSense kullanan var mı? Eğer mümkünse, “modem router modunda + pfSense arkada” ile “modem bridge modunda + pfSense direkt WAN’da” şeklinde basit bir diyagram gibi bişiler çok işime yarar.

    Ah right. Yup that's what I'm seeing. It wouldn't entirely surprise me to find there is no NVM update for X553 since its on-board the SoC. It's not a normal NIC in that sense.

    It looks like unified web management could be coming soon. It would be great if it means easier control and management of all web services in one place. Let's see if any companies announce more details about it!
