A few days ago i was inquiring about an issue i am having trying to download the pfsense installation image. You suggested to use a different browser.
Well, i did and still not luck, so I am doing the " I forgot my password " again.

The message said they have send an email in order to reset my password, but it never arrive. Check and recheck the junk folder, nothing.

The browser i use is firefox and i tried with MS edge and brave... still nothing.
Well hope there is something it can be done.

Hello, good morning... I finally installed pfsense 2.8.1 in the m400 box.... BUT, i am having a issue. It hangs. I heard the tone when it is finish booting, but thats it.

this is the pic for the finish installed....

and this is when it hungs... can't anything., i even try to reinstalled it, but it bypass the usb stick and goes directly to boot from the sata ssd internal.

hope you could give a clue was is happening... thanks

Well, partially solve the problem. I disconnect the wan int and i was able to login into the web interface.... But still the serial console still lock up. Don't know what to do there...
Even though i can login through the browser.

My guess is that your console is changing from VGA to Serial.. or visa versa. There is a way to change it via the gui but I have to look for it..

Edit- Found this in a search here..

"you can enable a serial console and set it as the primary console in System > Advanced > Admin Access." from 2020. I do not see it but it might show up on yours..

And have you tried to Putty in?

@chpalmer yes, I have tried it quite a few times with putty, but it always lockup and I can't do anything.
Something else that calls my attention is that I am not able to get into the bios, is like it disabled the keyboard and boots from the SATA drive...
Any thoughts?

Yup you didn't enable the serial console during the install but you can just enable it from the webgui System > Advanced > Admin Access afterwards.

@jriofrio I had to write to my SSD via another computer when I first started with my m400.. I do not remember if it worked via the USB drive the last time.

I might have some time to try out some things later today as everyone is out and about and I will have no complaints taking down my primary box here.. ;)

DO you know how i can reformat the pfsense drive in Linux Mint. I want to reinstalled it, but because it doesn't allows me to get into the BIOS in order to boot from the usb, is bothering that i am not able to access the bios anymore.

Why can you no longer access the BIOS? I thought you flashed it? The pfSense console settings have no effect on that.

@stephenw10 For some reazon when the sata drive is in there, it doesn't allows me to get into the bios. So, i pulled it and now i can get into the bios... have no idea what is going on....

This does not seem to work for me now.. Assume you were running this on the serial port and not ssh?

Yeah that's me connecting to the serial port from an adjacent 5100. If you updated the BIOS it's probably at 115200bps now though.

Just got to go back to school and get my version of freedos to boot...

Its working fine but got to tinker.. you know.

Family got home and I do not dare.. again.. you know. ;)

I also note I was connecting to the 2nd USB connected serial port there, yours is probably cuaU0. What error is it throwing?

If you are running Kea with 'DNS Registration' for Unbound and have pfBlockerNG with DNS-BL enabled then you need to use Python mode to avoid hitting the PHP mem limit at reload.

About the DNS registration, i am not sure of it.
